The reality is that the Communist Party of Ukraine ( KPU ) (* ) collected 4 million signatures (from 3.5 million on November 20 to 4 million now) against the accession to the European Union in November 2013.

The KPU has collected 4 million signatures for a referendum on the accession of Ukraine to the European Union. “The Communists are activated to block the accession that will destroy jobs and the country.”

The First Secretary of the KPU , Petro Simonenko , at a meeting with the heads of factions (political groups in the Ukrainian Rada ) and the Presidents of Parliament, announced on November 19, 2013 ” that the Communist Party had collected more than 3 million signatures for a referendum against the accession of Ukraine to the EU. “For Simonenko, “the people , in a referendum , are to decide”. ” We collected 3.5 million signatures , citizens have supported the Communist Party in its requirement for a referendum” announced Petro Simonenko .

Previously, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine rejected the popular initiative twice and refused registration of the initiative group.

Communists mobilized . In Oblast (district) of Kherson , ” the regional branch of the KPU announced they gathered more than 110,000 signatures, in the western regions (rather favorable to the EU) 150,000 signatures, in Odessa oblast 220,000 signatures, more than 70,000 signatures in Sevastopol , in Crimea 199,088 signatures . The largest number of signatures collected were done in Dnipropetrovsk oblasts ( 402,000 signatures) , Donetsk, Zaporozhye ( 260,000 signatures) and Lugansk”. .
