**********
The most recent resurgence of the systemic economic crisis of capitalism dates from 2008. Since then, the crisis has been deepening, becoming widespread, becoming globalized, and spreading its metastasis in all areas of economic, political, ideological, social, cultural, diplomatic and military life, in all spheres and throughout the world. Families, genocidal wars, murderous migrations, popular revolts, quickly repressed, succeed one another and ravage the innocent populations. This is what analysts, economists and politicians call these “neo-liberal globalization” following the “strategy of chaos” supposedly carried out by conspiratorial bankers. This episodic crisis of the system – of the capitalist mode of production – nevertheless has nothing “liberal” , and it is not the fruit of a global conspiracy, but the result of the normal development of this mode of production which must be brought down. This process of ineluctable degeneration, the proletarian class, calls it THE DECLINE OF CONTEMPORARY IMPERIALISM.
What are the underlying sources of this systemic crisis? Who are the protagonists, the dynamic forces, the proponents and the obvious outcomes? Who are pulling the strings behind the scenes to try to escape this drunk boat in perdition? What are the respective roles of bankers, financiers, large multinational corporations, governments, consumers and workers in the midst of this uncontrollable anarchy? How do the markets – the competition – the monopolies and inexorable laws of capitalist political economy act within this cataclysm? The capitalists of the underdeveloped countries, so-called neo-colonized and now called “emerging” and the impoverished populations of these countries have the opportunity to emerge and develop?
Development for which in these countries “emerging” to decadent capitalism?
Development for the proletarianised peasants or development for the bribed nationalist compradores bourgeoisies, associating via the transnational boards of directors to the former liberalized colonizers?
Finally, will the national governments and global governance bodies (IMF, WB, OECD, WTO, UN, NATO, AEI, Shanghai Alliance, etc.) succeed in reforming the laws of imperialist political economy in order to put the world’s flagship back on track and giving it a new lease of life in order to restore the confidence and power of the rich state of the bourgeoisie on the road to accelerated pauperization?
These are some of the questions dealt with in the volume THE DECLINE OF CONTEMPORARY IMPERIALISM .
