While in Syria, Al-Qaeda-linked rebels and other opposition groups engage in bloody infighting – the growing divisions among those aiming to topple Assad are threatening the upcoming peace talks. Syrian rebels turn on each other in a merciless turf war, with over 500 fighters killed in Islamist clashes over just one week sparking a change of heart among some of their foreign backers.
